Calculate fields, calculate tab not showing!

Hey community,

The only related question that was answered says ''Convert the eSign form to a Acrobat form''.  Now I have no clue what that means.  I created a form with InDesign CC 2018 with tables like in MS Excel than imported in Acrobat Pro DC to add the fillable fields.  It's a digital work order I'm working on for our employees.

In the Prepare Form section, it automatically identified all fillable squares perfectly.  However none have the calculate tab in the Text Field Properties.  I tried adding them manually and same with them.  I just want to have some basic calculations like item quantity multiplied by unit price = total.

What the heck am I missing?  I tried it with Printable PDF and Interactive PDF...

Any help is appreciated, thanks!

How do I get my document and text box to expand while typing in the field? It does not automatically expand the "row" on the form even though I selected multiline. It only shrinks the text which is too small to be read.

Go into form editing mode and in the right-hand pane select: More > Revert to Acrobat Form

Forms created in Acrobat (acroforms) don't behave that way. XFA forms, created in what was formerly called LiveCycle Designer, could behave that way.

While it's possible via JavaScript to dynamically change the size of a field in an acroform, you can't also reflow the page contents. If you need to be able to accommodate a lot of text, then make the field as large as you think you'll need.

Go to the field's Properties, General tab, and set this property:

Entering data into 1 form to fill in a 2nd form

Has anyone created a "base form" for entering data, which then transfers the data into another form or database?

You can export the form data and import the data in the other form.

I have the same problem - the fill and sign tools are at the top of the page but there is no document. I am running Windows 8.1 and using Chrome. A window's update was loaded last night.

Acrobat 9 is an old version, not compatible with Windows 10.

Copy what? The PDF itself, or its contents? The former is not possible. The latter is possible (using a security policy) but it's very easily to get around it, since not all applications adhere to these policies, unfortunately.

suppresing red highlight in grouped radio buttons

Hello

I've got some grouped radio buttons on a form, the fields are required, If the form is submitted without all of the required fields being completed, all of the required fields are highlighted in red, for example if the options in grouped radio buttons are yes or no and yes is selected the no field remains highlighed (as in the example below) which is confusing for the user.

Is there anyway to prevent this happening?

Thanks Ellen

Only if you disable the fields highlighting altogether.

Hello

Would that prevent all highlighting?  there are a lot of fields on the form so would probably need some highlighting to indicate the field which haven't been completed.

Thanks

Ellen

Yes, it would. You can create your own highlighting by setting the fields' fill/border color, though. It's more complicated, but you will have better control over how it works.

Thanks, I had to convert it to an Adobe Sign Form and than Revert to Adobe Form.  The menus showed up after that!

What about creating a "dummy" blank item by pressing CTRL+SHIFT+SPACEBAR.... Here is your blank default value!
