One my internal "clients" requested a new PDF form that's a variation on an old one. The old form is for adding something to a web site; the new one is for changing a "something" that was added previously. The text and format of the new form is completely different from the old one, but all of the fields are the same, and should have the same properties.
No problem, I told him. I'll just convert the new form's base document to a PDF, copy and paste the fields from the old form, and reposition them.
Now I'm trying to do it, and I find that Acrobat apparently can't copy form fields from one document to another. When I try I get nothing, or I get whatever was in the clipboard before I tried to copy.
Is there a way around this limitation? If not, I'm going to have to manually recreate about fifty form fields that I expected to copy and paste. It's going to turn ten minutes' work into several hours!
