Remove the protection of both files. Then combine the files.

Hi kellyk69106521,

I can help you with that.

To split a PDF file, you'll need to use Acrobat. If you don't have Acrobat, please feel free to give it a try. You can download the 30-day trial from this page: Download Adobe Acrobat free trial | Acrobat Pro DC

In Acrobat DC, you use the Organize Pages tool to extract pages, or split the document into individual pages. (In earlier versions, you'll find the tools on the Pages pane in the Tools panel.)

Please follow the steps in the KB doc.  Acrobat Help | Rotate, move, delete, and renumber PDF pages

In case if you experience any issue, please let us know. We will be happy to help you.

Re: How can I break apart a group of check boxes in auto created acrobat form

I have a similar problem so I won't start a new question.

My issue is that I have a very long Word document that contains tables. Each row of the table is a Yes/No question. I need to create about 120 groups of 2 choice yes/no radio button groups on the PDF form.

Is there a quick way to create these groups in any version of Acrobat Pro? I am looking to create these groups, size them and position them in 30 minutes or less.

Is there a certain object or symbol I can put in the Word doc that will automatically create these groups as part of the conversion?

Thanks

You need to use the same name for the check boxes within an exclusionary group. You will also have to change the export or value for the when the specific, widget, check box is selected.

Why is the text not showing up on the form fields?

I recently had Adobe Acrobat XI Pro installed on my computer. Sometimes I receive documents that have text missing from the fields. I do not have the option to "fix fields" under EDIT? One other person in my office has this option and the text will appear. We seem to have the same version so I'm not sure how to fix this? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

I would make one check box for each question, then place multiple copies across. Now edit each  check box changing the names to make an exclusionary group and adjusting the export value.

Many applications can be user modified and have additional tools or add  ins add to the program. And example is the PDF Maker added to MS Office.

You will need to add the code to fix the fields and add a menu item option to call the function.

Script to Fix Mac OSX Preview.app Form Fill and Save

The code for adding the menu item is custom for the function name.

Does your co-worker know how or who installed the code and can you get them to add the code to your system?

If you cannot remove the passwords then make a portfolio of the individual PDFs.

You can't really fix a form that has been corrupted by Preview since the damage it does is extensive and irreversible. Scripts that have been designed to address the problem simply make the data in some fields visible. Because all scripting has been removed by Preview, it may not be correct (no calculations or validations) or displayed correctly (no keystroke/formatting scripts).

The best thing to do is export the form data to a data file using Acrobat, and then open a fresh copy of the form and import the data. Depending on how the form is set up, even this may not yield the same results as a person manually filling in the form.

Why are we seeing the error message Forms Distribution Aborted?

$

We have been using Acrobat for years on a Windows XP platform, and now for the past 3 months, Acrobat XI on a Windows 7 Professional platform, creating distributed forms with no issue. In the last week or so we're seeing an error message indicating the Form distribution has been aborted, with an indication that the form is open with another user. It suggests to save as a different name or in a different folder. Saving as a different name doesn't resolve the issue, but saving it to a different folder does resolve the issue and the distribution completes properly. What would have changed and what do we need to do to eliminate saving to a different folder?

Thanks,

Randy

Saving an attachment form

I need to add several PDF forms as an attachment (it's a government provided XML form) into another PDF with a hyperlink to open the form. I have that working, but when I open the form, the original PDF is no longer open, and also when I save the filled-out form, it doesn't update the form in the original PDF, nor does it ask me for a location to save the form. I have no idea where it is saving it, if it even is (I can't locate an updated file with that name anywhere on my computer).

Is there a way to add this as an attachment to the master PDF, and have it either ideally saved either back to the original document, or to prompt the user for a location to save it when they are finished filling out the form?

Exactly how did you set up the link to open the attachment? If it's a "Go to a page in another document" type link, as opposed to "Open File", you can edit the link after you create it and specify that the document opens in a new window, which will keep the original open. When you make changes and save, it should save to the attached document. It does for me at least.
